The Singtel Comcentre building is commemorated in this watercolour commissioned from the artist. Seen from a high vantage point on Orchard Road, Ong Kim Seng has composed the painting to include the Comcentre as it stands tall in the vicinity amongst the beautiful greenery of the Orchard Road and Somerset area of Singapore. The high-rise apartments nearby and the buildings of the business district can be seen in the background, while the old shophouses of Killiney Road flank the left of the composition.
Centrally located in the painting, the Comcentre’s position hints at its connectivity with both old and new Singapore, and the many facets of Singapore life it is engaged in. Viewed in the bright daylight, the painting has much clarity and radiates positive energy.
